Re: The map that will never be
WOW. You are making me feel like a wierdo.
I just quickly checked a map. The game starts with a view of approximately 10 provinces on my screen. I always play with a zoom out view of 20 to 25 provinces. I will zoom in for a specific view on occasion, but 99% of the time my screen shows 20 to 25 provinces.

Re: The map that will never be
I always play with the map zoomed out to the maximum I can while still being able to discern which units are in provinces. Of course that can be bad on small, wraparound maps where I end up looking at any given province 2 or 4 times on the screen at once..

Re: The map that will never be
I use the default zoom usually, unless it's too far in or out. I can imagine playing zoomed further out, but not zoomed in. I have no idea why you'd play really zoomed in.

And in Dominions_10 (with Holodeck support) you can actually walk amoung your peoples.

You can already do that in Dungeon Keeper (& DK2).
(I really loved that game!)

No, he means actual people, as in Johan and Kristoffer show up at your house and enact Dominions in full costume, for your entertainment pleasure. You can't beat the graphic quality, but the processing really slows down if you try to play more than 2 nations at a time.
