Oh and an rgb as well! Couldn't you have included a short readme in pdf format also?
I'm not wanting to start anything here, but as Ballbarian said, the maps are generated in .rgb but to stress this even more..

What? I don't think I've had a file in years that isn't .rar. It's way beyond "fairly common". Didn't .zips and .arjs more or less go extinct, several years ago?

I wouldn't know, because I use WinRAR for all my compression/decompression needs, but doesn't Windows itself support the extraction of .rars?

I'm sorry, I'm just kinda stunned to hear someone refer to .rar as something alien, and then another chimes in and calls it "fairly common".

Oh, and before I forget, thanks for the map. Looks neat, as far as random maps go (not really a fan of those; has nothing to do with you )

Sorry Luckman, but windows environments (XP & Vista) do not support the rar format natively as they do zip. Perhaps rar is common in many circles, but in this community (and the others that I personally frequent) you will find that the majority of the available downloads use zip. I am not saying all, but most.

I am sure that it just boils down to where we are and what forums we happen to frequent as to which is more common.

I have to agree that the majority of Windows users will not have encountered the rar format.

I do prefer random maps for MP, since many of the current prerender maps are "unfair." They create theme areas, like a large desert or forest. That means whatever player gets to the field heavy area has a tremendous advantage versus the player stuck in the mountains. Random maps give an even spread of the different territory types through out the map, especially if you go through an eliminate the bad and too good start positions which is what I did here. The "donut" was to try to minimize the number of neighbors a starting player might have, thus limiting the advatageous of a "corner" start positiong. Definitely could have had a better "donut," but c'est la vie.

Now, if only I can figure out how to convert the rgp to a jpeg to post a pic...
