frustrating experiences with SEV

Yeah, the space combat is REALLY finicky in SEV, I've had some problems with it myself:

BTW, people say that the combat simulator is not reliable. I've not had any problems with it yet, could someone comment on that?

I've come to the conclusion that while there are some bugs, some of the issues I ran into were due to misunderstanding the tactics (and in particular the "target type"). Thanks for your help guys! Enjoying the game quite a bit now.
