Re: Standards - MA Game (running)
I've heard it said that once a year you should consume a can of horseradish in order to cleanse the system. Though I'm talking exclusively about the bowels. Will have side-effects, like can't leave the bathroom.
Edit: By the way. Do any of you have a remedy for leprosy, cause that might come in handy... ha ha ha.

Re: Standards - MA Game (running)
Horseradish in a can?
I have much less painful concoctions to ingest, to clean the pipes out. Google "Internal Saltwater Bathing" if you get a chance. It is really quite effective, and not nearly as horrific as eating a "can" of horseradish, or taking an enema.
Caelum is not afraid of your veiled threats, however. We live to die, that is duty, that is honor.

Re: Standards - MA Game (running)
People have died from ingesting too much goldenseal. Thats why I'm very cautious about letting people just take it. Heh, there's a method to rid yourself of poison oak allergies, I do it every time I go deep into the woods. I eat one tiny baby leaf about 4 weeks before I go. I knew a guy that thought if a little was good a bowlful would be better... It wasn't pretty... A little cautionary tale.

Re: Standards - MA Game (running)
Well, unless 46852 is a pregnant or lactating woman..... he is very unlikely to suffer a real reaction any kind of "reasonable" amount of Goldenseal.
I'll admit though, I don't often recommend its use either. But mostly because it's so expensive, and you use it so sparingly in general. I would hope that when I flippantly use a term like "megadosing", that someone unfamiliar with the herb, the term, or both would completely avoid the activity without more information.
Probably crazy for me to expect people to act rationally at all, but maybe I just assume a lot about our Dom3 peeps.

Re: Standards - MA Game (running)
Hmm, I never thought of people using it to mask substance abuse. Maybe thats how they od on it. Anyway it is a useful tool when your ill with a viral illness. Thats something we can agree on.
PS. I just looked on line about this herb. Now I regret ever mentioning it, its now a endangered species. So I suggest growing some in your garden rather than harvesting in the wild.

Re: Standards - MA Game (running)
I vote that we end the game and call it a draw. We are all sort of big and bad and I'm sure we could war on for a really long time, especially given our lack of enthusiasm.
If you must know, I've got 2 tartarians up and running without feeblemind as well as the chalice. I've got enough nature income for GoR every round. If someone wishes for the chalice from me I could eventually wish it back. I'd use my extra stock of nature gems to just cast GoH until that happens of course. Then there are the matrix slave vine lords who will have over a dozen buffs each and are already kitted out with artifacts and the like. Not to mention my actual flying army of sacred units and mages sitting on Ashdod's cap. Ghost riders and horrors and blah blah blah. Lets just call it a three way draw and get some fresh new games for a fresh new year.

I agree, I'm sorry I didn't have the time to pay this game enough attention. See yah.

Re: Standards - MA Game (running)
Thank god, I was just going to brooch the subject again myself.
With Bwaha staling (understandable, it happens), it was looking more like Ashdod would have to go AI. Problem is, I'm already being run in circles by 2 AIs down in the south (Bandar Log decided they wanted to play, even while getting crushed by Vanheim).
This was an incredibly fun game while it lasted, and the real shame here is that we did not get the chance to have a proper showdown, but I would be willing to say I think the game lost its soul when Calahan disappeared, but sort of just refused to die.
I didn't have as many top end tricks as you, AoE, as I was hampered by HORRIBLE gem income in my starting lands (I had 5 Air, 6 Water, and 5 Astral I believe, before attacking Abysia), but I was stressing versatility, and was soon to summon all 3 of the Fire Kings, as well as the Air Queens now that I had the Gale Gate up. Of course, your Tarts probably had full immunities, but the Queens would just raid, which is what most of my armies would do. It would be bloody and exciting, if the game was still wanting to be played. Darn, now I have to find another game to play in as Caelum, I learned some interesting tactics in this game, and I'd really like to chalk up a win before attempting a new guide for them.

Re: Standards - MA Game (running)
Before you write that guide you should talk with me about some thoughts I've been having about them. I've become really interested in middle age Caelum and might play them as well in the near future.
Thanks everyone for a fun time. See you in another game.
