Default I\'ve been a baaaad boy.

I've been, well not exactly baiting, Apolytoner's.

Go read the thread and then come back and tell me to leave them alone.
Sorry,

AtP

I like it. You're getting the word out without being too pushy or mean.

"Any flames in this message are solely in the mind of the reader."
As long as that remains true, you should do fine.

PS: You referred to SE4 as a two-man show.
Aaron Hall is one, who was the second you referred to?
Russell Saito for the music and old SFX?

Yeah, that's who I was thinking of. Isn't he with Malfador anymore?

And thanks for the feedback. Sometimes the folx on that board get under my skin and I'm not sure if I reply in an irritable fashion or not.

PS I see you had no problem figureing out who I am on that board.

Edit: Added PS

We got your back man .

Seriously though I don't want to star a flame war there guys, keep it above board if you post there.

I, however, had to dispel some of their misconceptions .

Kudos to you AtP. I hate it when someone makes an argument based mostly upon snobbery. Who was that one guy to think that he had the full measure of SE IV after having only played the demo?

Customization is one of the key factors of this game and until you have at least explored its possibilities one should at least have the courtesy to withhold judgement till such time as you can make an informed decision.

But I suppose that is what you get from those who value form over function. Damn sophists.

I am sure MOO3 will be a good game, but it could never be as moddable as SE:IV due to it's necessity for a rigid story line. Maybe they don't want that in a game, but that doesn't make it a bad game.

Besides Infogrames sucks as a publisher, I don't trust them one bit (even though QS is a fairly good group of guys from what I have seen).

I don't know if he's still doing work for MM, but from the credits, Aaron did almost everything solo, except the graphics & sounds (and beta testing).

The guy who argued most with Atilla expresed desire to actually buy SEIV but he does't buy anything over internet (does't want to publish CC details ).
If it is posiible to order SE by sending check, may be Richard should inform him.

Good job, well, except for the fact that you're wrong.

The text files provide goals for the ministers. The underlying ministers themselves are hardcoded. Look at any of a number of threads on this forum for examples of how stupid the ministers are. They send ship after ship through damaging warp points into black holes instead of through normal warp points a few squares away. They strip important planets of population to build up unimportant colonies. They ignore enroute resupply depots and just turn the ship around when it reaches half supplies, regardless of the mission. They build mines for planetary protection but won't launch them. They keep building units on planets with no storage available. They constantly retrofit ships to the same or inferior designs. They can't even find the short way around damaging storms or get out of black holes consistently. You can't afford to turn any part of your empire over to a minister. It will ruin you. The ministers were stupid in the demo, and the ministers are stupid in Gold. Although some errors have been fixed, there has been little done to improve them. MM's time has been spent on really important things like drones. [/Rant]

Sorry about that. It's a great game anyway, but it could be so much better.
