Looking further at the chat, it seems like things are heading towards difficult research. I'll see if I can get things set up in a little over 12 hours time - make your opinions heard before then!

Difficult research and victory points, the difficult research means the nations with weak late game will have more chance - and more time to get a head before everyone begins to reach full effectiveness.

VP sounds good, don't you just hate when a game drags on and you already know who'll win.

Difficult research sounds good to me (not biased by the fact Eriu has a rubbish endgame of course! ), VP is good as well, plus the map seems fun, will we be playing with the 'adventure' version or the plain one?
