I've seen land nations get Sirens quite often.

It could be a Siren that some other nation got, that is now used to kill your commanders. That sounds more probable than independent Siren knowing to hide and lure.

Could this be caused by a random event, or is it certain there's a Siren in the province? Not going to waste a turn patrolling if this is a one time event only.

Is this attack carried out as an assassination attempt? Those take place before any movement or patrolling, so if this is caused by a player, there isn't anything I can do to prevent it from happening again this turn

Do commanders get some kind of save to resist the attack?
Is it normal for this effect to be anonymous?
