Re: 7 out of 7 uses of Bow of War + Retreat
Don't neglect a shroud of the battle saint or blessing if you've got a death blessing.

Re: 7 out of 7 uses of Bow of War + Retreat
Is fire and flee worth the difference between just a retreat?
Especially with anything decked out so expensively.
I think I would definetly prefer a fire, fire, fire, fire, fire, retreat.
Fire and flee has some advantages but I tend to use it only in areas where every nearby province is capable of producing mounted archers.
Oh and wouldnt the blessed shroud thing be especially nice to add when you have the blessing for causing afflictions? With the Bow of War?

Re: 7 out of 7 uses of Bow of War + Retreat
That's what Baalz just said.
Fire and flee is simply to get 7/7 instead of 5/7.

Re: 7 out of 7 uses of Bow of War + Retreat
You get to aim those last two shots at either the closest units, monsters, calvery, archers, flying units, or the rear. That makes them the best two of seven uses.

Assuming you don't spend the first turn running forward to get into range, then spend the second turn getting promptly impaled on a bunch of lances.

Re: 7 out of 7 uses of Bow of War + Retreat
I surely remember somebody said that Death 9 bless works with missiles/spells (I think it was LA Tien Chi guide discussion). Fire bless certainly works only in melee.

I'm pretty sure that referred only to the +affliction% part of the bless, which I think works everywhere.

Re: 7 out of 7 uses of Bow of War + Retreat
I'd worry that with 7 turns my bow of war commanders would be under attack in melee. I assume they'll all be carting personal guards round as well?

Agema: I presume these missile thugs are to be used along with PD, chaff, regular armies etc. Point being getting them to use the bow of war until they can't, then leave so there's less chance they die.
