				The definitive Dom3 LP

Sure, SA did a good one, but since the OP got banned it looks like it won't be archived. Besides, the official forums probably have the cream of the crop as far as player quality is concerned.

How do the top players 'round here feel about making a Dom3 LP? I think it would be a great inspiration not only to newbie-players who want to see how the high-level stuff is done, but also to those unsure if the game is worth their money.

Personally I bought Dom3 purely because of the SA-LP, so I think we could hook quite a few new players if we spread it around a bit.

For those not in the know, an "LP" is a "Let's Play", similar to an After Action Report but the author posts as he plays the game instead of after it's done.
They are often done with some audience-participation.

I know that the last winner of the massive megagame, Zeldor, is in the process of turning his victory into an After Action Report.
Here's a link to the thread mentioned in the OP where the player Matryx is EA R'lyeh in a newbie game.

As far as I know, Matryx still actively hosts games over at Something Awful?

I could be willing to archive turns for a game, and make notes/observations on a turn by turn basis for it.
But at that point, I might be more eager to pass it on to someone who thinks it would be a fun project to format this into the finished form.

Hmmmm. Perhaps a MP game where every player is intended to do just that, and the entire output pooled to one point. Then the entire game can be analyzed from an overarching view, as well as giving access to archives of each turn, containing every player, so they can be examined in detail.

Just that I know some people may not want to participate in such a thing, because (like me) they have a fairly distinctive playstyle, and perhaps take some unorthodox risks sometimes, assuming no one notices or realizes, but knowing that if they saw how they (or I) played the game, that certain vulnerabilities would become more apparent.

I think the Chronicles game will feature extensive RP AARs (maybe you can look at what they are doing now already I don't know).

Also hopefully the players of Principe will save some turns so people can watch them afterwards. Well, it are not the best players in there but a lot of high-level stuff. Might also give good hints about how the high-level stuff is not used.

I think talking about your turns while you are doing them is not the best idea when other players can read it as it makes the game somewhat artificial.

I found the other LP here, where they tried just that with everyone in-game posting...
It's an amusing/good read, too.

Yes, but it was never finished
I think it's important to work with screenshots too, because text alone is a bit confusing.

I doubt it would be a huge problem for players with distinct playstyles to reveal their tricks. I mean, if the tactic wasn't viable strong players would have you countered long ago, and even if it does make things slighly harder for you that's a great opportunity to adapt and improve, n'est-ce pas?

Horst F. JENS recently suggested about the same as you want to do with this "Let's Play" thing in his thread RFC: project: The Dom3 TV saga.

Yes, but somehow that seems less likely to get off the ground. Besides, it would probably be easier to search a screen-shot LP than a VLP. You know, for particular moves or counters. A VLP would probably be entertaining, but not as good a learning tool for noobs
