How Do I Start A PBW Game????
I hope I don't sound stupid but was wondering how I can start a PBW game. I wanted to experiment with it first with my buddy before we jumped on any of te other PBW's out there. If anyone has any guidance I would greatly appreciate it. |

Doesn't sound stupid at all. Everybody has to start somewhere.
Go to PBW and click on the FAQ button at the top (That's the ? button if you are using the graphical interface). It should have answers to most if not all of your questions. If you still have questions at that point, post them here, or in the forums there and some helpful individual will jump on them.

Thanks G', When I was setting up my game as usual I just didn't see the PBW option. The only thing I saw was the standard TCP/ICP etc., I appreciate the Info. |

PBW itself is not an explicit option on the Set Up screen; it's just a form of play-by-e-mail.Quote:

You create the game as "Different Machines"+"Simultaneous"+<whatever the non-TCP/IP option is called>, then upload the resulting .gam file to the PBW server.

Re: How Do I Start A PBW Game????
Ok, so we actually go into a game like we are setting up a game we are playing by ourselves. Set up the quadrant, events, player settings, create a race, set victory conditions, computer players, etc, etc. Then on that Last section, the part where it asks for simultanues, TCP/IP, etc, etc. We fill all of that out, save the game to a specific file???, and then when we're accepted, we just send that file. Am I missing something? Help, so much of that begginner confusion and anxioty.
 Thanks.

You seem to have the right idea.
I'd recommend you check out the PBW FAQ and you should find the exact answers to game settings, game file naming conventions, and how to upload the game files though

Sorry but the Point 1.6 isnt clear to me
How can I upload my empire?Quote:

		| 1.6 - What do I need to do once I've joined a game?
Once you have registered as a player in a PBW game, all you have to do is upload your empire file. This can be done by selecting the appropriate button from the top menubar when viewing the game's description.
 | And where in the FAQ are the naming conventions?
(just to tell I use the Textbased PBW)

The only naming convention is in section 3.0: you should NOT add the .gam extension to the file name; the program does that automatically.Quote:
