Will there ever be a new patch?
Considering that there are still lot's of goodies a new patch can bring and that dominions 4 is extremely unlikely in the foreseeable future I wonder what are the odds of us ever getting a new patch for dominions.
I was going to do a routine check in the progress page - just to see the old March entries when I found these two new entries:
"
19th august 2009
* New resolution 1024*576 (for netbooks).
17th july 2009
* New resolution 1024*600 (for netbooks).
"
Now, I'm starting to get excited. somewhat. A new patch on the way?

Well if all it includes is resolutions for netbooks, it's not exactly exciting.

Re: Will there ever be a new patch?
I'm sure there'll be, at least, some sort of bug-fix patch.

Re: Will there ever be a new patch?
Hopefully some painful bugs would be crushed and just the inclusion of some screen resolutions.

Re: Will there ever be a new patch?
What I would like in a new patch would be for cave provinces to use darkness rules as they are supposed to be.
It would do a lot to make darkvision more useful, and could make for interesting maps, having cave provinces being hard to conquer depending on your nation, like water provinces already are.

Yeah that's a big bug that's been around a while. I'd love to see that fixed too.

Re: Will there ever be a new patch?
I think the "game needs" have rather slid off of the radar for Dom3.
The new project (whatever that is) appears to have moved into the "fun to do" stage for both developers. It did for Johan first but I get the impression that the project has progressed to the point of accepting Kristoffers input also.
Maybe game-crashing or game-destroying items would draw them back to creating a fix if it was something that could be done quickly then let them return to the project.
Turning fixes into a patch is usually not worth doing until there are a few items to be included in it.

Re: Will there ever be a new patch?
Someone mentioned a while back something about a new nation being added?
I assume this rumor is false?

Re: Will there ever be a new patch?
Seems like worst case scenario as far as poor old dominions is concerned.
I hope no big dev. goes out and buys the rights to dom-IV. I suspect they'll just ruin it with their short term goals and rush to the market strat.
