rdonj, would you care to share your sage advice and refresh my memory as how to deal with such a thing if needed?

Well, there's no way to stop someone from signing up. Just set the game not to auto-start, and I'm pretty sure until the game has started you can just remove incorrect pretenders via the game page. You have to rely on the players that were unable to get a pretender in to let you know if there's a problem though.

You should get a confirmation response form the server like:
