Re: Blake\'s 7
@Rockman,
As someone commented earlier, many of the tech's in B7 are already in SE4 but by different names (eg teleport is pretty much boarding parties). Not sure what game effect Orac should have - Slave and Zen are really Master Computers....
SE4 already has cloaking devices so not much change there I think.
The above items were what made me suggest a B7 Tech area so that a few of the items not covered can be incorporated into SE4.
Regards,
GE

Re: Blake\'s 7
Thnaks God Emperor - point taken. Will start work on the B7 techonolgy group. As for Orac how about some kind of intel technology - on the show he could tap into other computers etc. Wasn't he the most lame prop on the how show!?

Re: Blake\'s 7
I've heard of Blake 7, but have yet to see a complete episode. Heck, as a kid, I didn't even watch Dr. Who all that much, due to the 30 minute episodes and the sporadic times they played. It wasn't until the 80's when someone got the bright idea of playing the episodes altogether and making a kind of movie that I got hooked onto Dr. Who. Another good British sci-fi show that's really funny to watch is Red Dwarf. I don't know if there's enough material there to make a whole race with all of the components.

Re: Blake\'s 7
I think red dwarf might be pushing it a bit although you could make a nice race out of the cat character. Pretty funny show though
Here is a website where you can download the enitre scripts for Blake's 7
I reckon the worst prop in the show was orac (a box with a few flashing lights) but the costumes were pretty cool. Favorite character Avon of course. Anyone else?

Re: Blake\'s 7
I dunno... a 'gag' shipset or two wouldn't hurt. You get to choose for yourself what to install, after all. Some of the silly ships from Red Dwarf and Quark could be cobbled together into a decent SE shipset. The Spathi from Star Control 2 had ships that looked like tinker-toys. They'd be good for a laugh. Then maybe get a literally cartoonish shipset together & use Marvin the Martian as the race portrait...

Re: Blake\'s 7
I know that I've see a shipset based on the Space Invaders arcade game.
There's also the dreaded Hamsterati.
