Is there any way to customize the user interface colours? Now that I've bought the enhanced version, I find it very difficult to read the grey text on red background at the top of the main screen during a battle. The extra resolution is fantastic in all other respects, but changing those colours would be a giant help. (Changing the font size would help as well, but might throw other things off.)

No, sorry that's hard coded. IDK what resolutionm your running at but you might want to try running it down one from what you have now. For my monitor I have found 1152x 864 works best for me but when I tested in on my daughters machine I was able to comfortably go up one

I have the CD,but for my tired old eyes 800x600 is best for me,

I've never noticed a grey on red in any resolution however, always black on red or yellow.

I have trouble reading the text ony any than 800x 600 seems to keep get smaller in higher modes but i play in full screen, never windowed.
