With my creative juices still flowing, wanted to share some ideas about game 3:

I'll likely either reduce team size to 3, or remove 1 team due to the difficulty in recruting/retaining large numbers of players over lengthy periods.

Some theme ideas for game 3:

3 realms:

Heavenly Realm - Paths: Astral, Air, Water

Possible Thematic Nations: Caelum, Midgard, Man, TC

Example Pretenders: Virtue, Shedu, Oracle, Male/Female Titan, Lord of the Sky, Lady of Fortune, Son of the Heavens, Daughter of the Dawn, Father of Winters, Blue Dragon, etc.

Earthly Realm - Paths: Earth, Nature, Water

Possible Thematic Nations: Pangaea, Agartha, Ulm, Patala

Example Pretenders: Cyclops, Great Mother, Mother of Lions, Great White Bull, Gorgon, Colossal Fetish, Wyrm, Green Dragon, etc.

Underworld Realm - Paths: Fire, Blood, Death

Possible Thematic Nations: Abysia, Marignon, C'tis, Utgard

Example Pretenders: Moloch, Vampire Queen, Fountain of Blood, Prince of Death, Solar Disc, Baphomet, Ghost King, Lord of the Gates, Red Dragon, etc.

Collegium Arcanum (Rainbow magic theme) - Paths: Multiple and Varied

Possible Thematic Nations: Arco, TC, Jomon, Mictlan

Example Pretenders: Lord of Rebirth, Lawgiver, any other large pretender with native magic in three or more paths, all 10 magic path cost rainbow pretenders, etc.

Gandalf's AI: Theme: Genocide
The complete and final annihilation of all human players.

I have a newbie question regarding the connection to the server. You give a port number, but the game also asks for an IP#, what should I write there?

Probably a good idea. Reduction of team sizes means removal of leutenant position - not necessarily good, reduction of team numbers can lead to very stable situation where teams maneuver diplomatically waiting for advantage. I'm not sure which is better.

Heh, these are just ideas I'm fooling around with at this point. Glad to see people like some of them. Lotta blood nations in LA. Your right about Bogarus. I'd have to look at all LA nations in depth before deciding which nation fits best in which realm. I could make use of pretenders from all era's, as well various units in the game as pretenders if desired/needed. Smoking Mirror, Jade Emperor are some other of those multi-path pretenders, forgot which eras though. I do like the 3 realms idea, just an example of the many themes that one can discern in the game.

Right. LA R'lyeh and Ermor have such devastating dominions that if included they'd likely be given to Gandalf. Don't know how well the AI handles LA Ermor though.

Since its early, let me chime in here.

I *hate* themes. Let players choose the nations they want to play, via points choices, whatever.

I don't care if you want to apply game conditions- only water gods, only rainbows.. only left handed red haired stepchildren.

But after that let people play as they want.

It would be interesting if all 3 teams were all the same nations, for example bogarus, mictlan, and Ermor. Or whatever.

I'd also like to suggest using the BDS mod: No bogus random sites.
