Re: What Ship Sets Do You Use Most
Several of the standard SE IV shipsets are excellent as far as I am concerned, and I've always used those. The Amon Krie, Cue Cappa, Jraenar, and Norak are all nicely detailed and yet also thematically consistent. The Abiddon and Phong are also pretty good. Some of the 'third party' shipsets are also very nice but I've not wanted to add to my burden of updating AI files until recently.

Yes indeed they are. In fact, I have even made Posts on how good they really are and how much I like them.

Re: What Ship Sets Do You Use Most
Yeah, some of them are good. But it gets boring playing against the same races every time. That's why I have 95 races installed for SEIV Gold, and 115 for SEIV 1.49.

Re: What Ship Sets Do You Use Most
My god... I didn't know that there were that many races for SE IV! There were never that many for SE III as far as I know. That's quite surprising that there are so many people willing and able to make them. Erm, it's not one person who made 50 or something, is it?

Re: What Ship Sets Do You Use Most
I use a mix of standard, TDM-ModPack and a few others; the two I've played the most games with would be the Sharlon Kingdom and the Zedron Empire.

Well, from what I've noted cruising the shipyards at SE.org and Universal Shipyards, John Beech alone can probably lay claim to 10-20 of them. They're GOOD ones, too; I think he did most of my Favorites, actually.

Re: What Ship Sets Do You Use Most
Hadrian Aventine and John Beech both create nicely textured, exotic ships.
My personal favorite is Hadrian's "Federal Union", a spinoff of the sleek, phalus-like ships of the 1950's. I have created a whole human sect around them called the "Pontine Lepers".
There are so many other good ships out there to be named. This is one of my attractions to SEIV. You never know who is playing what shipset. Most games I have played on PBW have new ships I have yet to install.
