				 Re: A Map List
Hey, I'm looking for a map I played a couple of years ago and I can't find anymore: a very large map with a huge central landmass, surrounded by elemental-themed realms (fire, death...)
if anyone knows which map I mean, please let me know.
 many thanks in advance...

				 Re: A Map List
I made a few wrap-around maps that I'm proud of, and I'll be making more. The last two are good enough to share because I used hexagon or pentagon grids instead of free-hand borders. I don't have a web page to post links, and I can't seem to find a site where I can upload them. Any suggestions? |

Any suggestions? | Unless they're over the size limit, the most straightforward way is to do as most of the others in this list have done and put them in a zip archive and post them directly in a new thread in this maps/mods subforum (using the file attachments feature.)

Make sure to put the attachments in the first post of the thread so you can update it later if necessary (for fixes, etc.) |

				 Re: A Map List
Thanks. I can do that. I just need to work out one little thing first - one map has a small island surrounded by sea that I want as a possible start site. I can't get the Province Editor to work (& I downloaded the visual basic per the readme.) I can almost figure out the code to modify a couple provinces manually, but there's still a lot of guessing. I can make a "known feature" site that allows the recruitment of amphibians, so the start wouldn't be completely isolated (If I can figure out which site does that), or I can play around with it until I can figure out how to make some amphibs recruitable naturally in a neighboring province.
(I'm proud of the appearance of the maps, but I depend on Semi-Random to add the flavor to it. But my problem requires order in this case, and not chaos.)

 Islandwrap&
 Long Stretch

These are both small wrap-around maps with a long stripe of land surrounded by an equal part water. The water provinces are larger, though, so the land/sea balance is on par with the norm. You'll want to run these through Semi-Random, as I did very little tweaking of the provinces manually other than the appearance of the map.

 | Those are some nice looking maps wilphart, thanks for sharing them
Although think both of them might have too many water provinces (or too high of a land:water ratio) to be used that often in MP games, unless they were specialised Land v Water games or some such. Since playing water natons in MP games is not that popular. Shame, as IMO both of your maps are friendlier on the eyes than most regular maps. |
