I've no experience with Wendigos.

Would anyone who has care to elaborate on how to get the optimal bang for a buck from them?
i.e. how many turns to grow?- Where?
When should they see battle?
What roles can they take?
Pros+Cons etc...

Could be a nasty weapon in LA Caelum arsenal.
