At least I'll know for next time it's a bad idea... I don't really know of a PD that can take 90+ barbarian unscathed though.

Mictlan and myself (C'Tis) are going back and forth.

I do not think I would go with misfortune higher than 2, if I did, it would be with order 3. I tried M3 before in SP, and had the same problem with losing provinces to crappy events.
