Dear Araisa,
I have pondered your words, but alas the concept of the world being a river only reminds me of running water, which in turn triggers a Pavlovian urge to pee. While I concede it is hypothetically possible that a nation with such amazing cultural depth as T'ien C'hi could have a national philosophy based upon biological functions, I think it more likely that I am simply culturally unequipped to understand The Way - or that perhaps it is time for me to invest in a set of Depends Adult Nappy Pants, to deal with my obvious incontinence issues.
We of Ermor are simple folk. We are dedicated to the ultimate equality of all creatures, and have found that the penultimate expression of equality is found in death (or rather, undeath). After all, any two shambling zombies are much the same, irrespective off whether one was once a prince and the other a pauper.
Some feel that we seek to hurry death to bring this about, but nothing could be further from the truth. Death can afford to be patient, as eventually it comes to all. Our national philosophy is to enjoy life and its privileges while they last, for after you pass through the final veil, only mindless drudgery and the eternal equality of the grave await.
Best wishes, and hoping for a future filled with friendship and love,
Lady Esmeralda, First Consul of Ermor

Dear Esmeralda,
the revoultion vehemently disagrees with your reactionary reasoning.
While a situation of equality for all is desireable, even inevitable, we intend to use each Ulmish and allied citizen in a way that maximizes his use from himself and all others.
A general that died will become a Bane(lord), a dead mage a Shade, and dead soldiers will come back as Wights.
For us, using the concept of undeath merely means that Death is not the end to the most valuable and valiant agents of the revoultion. It is, as a matter of fact, enshrined in the consitution of the Peoples Republic of Ulm that one will only be permanently reanimated in a form that is more powerfull than the form one had at live.
Thus, the historical dialectic and its struggle for progress defeats even death!
Given that, at the moment, 85% of the Peoples Republics military personal wear a Black Steel Full Plate and a Black Halberd, reanimating our valiant warriors as Zombies is pretty much out.
We are currently looking forward to reanimating Karl Marx as a Mound Lord or Lich.

Given that my entire nation is planning to move to being a giant ambulatory charnel house, with no use for lungs (water filled or otherwise), I am quite confident that we shall adapt successfully to your challenge!

The peoples republic of Ulm always utilzes a policy that cares for enviromental concerns. We thus have to inform aquatic species in propable danger of extinction that Ulmish shores have some rather severe amounts of very heavy nasty metal(s).

The people of Ermor are wise. Death is an appropriate way for the scaleless ones to contribute to the spread of the swamps. To become fertilizer is to participate in the great works of the Barnacle Goose.

After a slight diplomatic hickup, we have some pencil pushers to spare that would make a better job as Fertilizers, would you be interested?

It seems that the landlubbers have fallen upon each other. It is good to see this; the Rising Water is fed by the blood of the hairy ones. All hail Shurp, Lord of the Rising Water!

The world seems so evil and treachrous - but the giants of the world welcome all with friendship and warmth. why shouldnt we make the world together a clean, well-lighted and friendly place to men and beasts alike?
