BCT Commander
Before I start the BC_AfghanRaid1 scenario - am I to use the C130s like helicopers? Giving them a stop node where they are to drop the troops?

Re: BCT Commander
No. The C-130 will not stop. You dismount the personnel in flight over the drop zone where you want them to land.

Re: BCT Commander
I think we are talking past each other - again ;-)
Please confirm/correct:
-I load the the troops on the aircraft.
-I plan paths through the drop zone.
-I give the aircraft a stop node were they are to drop the troops, or stop the game when an aircraft is at the right place and choose dismount.

Re: BCT Commander
Shorty,
You basically have it right.
The process is:
1) Load troops on the aircraft.
2) Plan route.
3) When aircraft is over your desired DZ unload troops. (Do not plot a "Stop Node" as fixed wing aircraft do not stop.)

Re: BCT Commander
Well Gary, I am not allowed to dismount the troops unless the aircraft are given a stop node. They come under artillery bombardment almost immediately, although in flight?
Can anyone give me a hint were to droop? I took it that the artillery was to be put down at the heavy drop dz, but then it is out of range?
And dropping the troops at the dz in Victor is a very bad idea.
Has anyone played this scenario and won it? From my point of wiew the enemy has quite a lot of armour, and the armour is very difficult to get close enough to destroy without being knocked out one self.

Re: BCT Commander
After quite some time, today I decided to give this mission a second go.
All that remain now are four enemy(!) C130s, and four civilian groups and four vehicles. And they are not to be fired upon, according to the order.
So why will the mission not finish?

Re: BCT Commander
Shorty,
I will check it out, but it may take me a while. I am in Afghanistan, just beginning a 1 year tour.

Re: BCT Commander
I have the same question. I plan a path and over LZ I try to parachute my units but "Dismount" is disabled while C-130 in flight. What am I doing wrong ?.
