Default Re: French OOB

This is why getting solid information is such a joy

says

First deliveries of the MMP are expected in 2017, the DGA said. The new weapon, which will equip ground troops and special operations forces, was seen as needed to replace the aging Milan missile.

The MMP’s export potential is seen as a vital factor in the sale.
Some 400 firing posts and 2,850 missiles are due for delivery under the contract, with 175 posts and 450 weapons due in 2014-’19, the period covered by France’s upcoming six-year budget law. There had been expectations that DGA would sign a contract for the new missile in June or July.

so no deliveries until 2017 except for the ones to be delivered between 2014 and 2019

Fallout Re: French OOB

MMP only gets better from here...
From UPI...
"The first 175 launchers and 450 missiles will be delivered by 2019, the company said."
http://www.upi.com/Business_News/Sec...3371386350826/

From Army Technology good systen data, with my highlight in the quote...
"The entire MMP development programme is funded by MBDA, and is scheduled to be completed by 2017." That would indicate a later fielding date probaly in line with the first ref.

From Deagel...
Basically same article from previous posts (I have to be fair here.) however note the upper left corner they predict sometime in 2017.
http://www.deagel.com/Anti-Armor-Wea...002504001.aspx

From army-recognition...
"The plan includes the delivery of 400 firing units and 2,850 missiles. A total of 175 firing units and 450 missiles will be delivered between 2014 to 2019."
A very good site and French.

From JANES again with my highlight in the quote...
MBDA has carried out a series of trials of the warhead and propulsion systems of its MMP (Missile Moyenne Portée - Medium Range Missile), which will provide the French Army with a new ground combat weapon expected to enter service in 2017.

Give me a shotgun with bird shot aimed at a target marked MMP, shoot at it and let me know what kind of pattern you get on the target.

With a "swag" I'd say no sooner then JAN 2018.

This is why especially with new equipment it is very important to multi source the references and then followup on it until it gets to the troops, I.E. Taiwan submitted last year to get the AH-64E. This year in the first Patch input we managed to be right on target with the update provided.
ICO Indias ARJUN MKII we've made I believe since first submitted ~3 years ago at least one maybe two in service date changes and we still might not be done (Don't worry Don it's still looking good as is.) this the nature of the beast and not a knock on you Paulas or anyone else. And it also cuts down significally fixes and deletions later in the OOB's.

Regards,
Pat
