is the graphics the same in the CD as the digital download
Hi.
I have a resolution on 1920*1080. If I buy winspww2 as a digital download (and not the CD), does I then get that resolution?
And can I see some screen shots somewhere, that shows a screen shots with a resolution that high? what I have seen so far, does not impress me at all, but I do not know what resolution that screen shots had?
Thanks

Re: is the graphics the same in CD and as digital download
If you buy the game and set it to "desktop" you get the resolution your desktop is set to so you WILL get 1920x1080... that is the same resolution I have
I have tried to upload a full 1920x1080 screen shot but there are some kind of limiters that reduce it and therefore make it far less than it is but I can assure you if you have 1920x1080 when you set it to desktop that's what you get, clear and sharp

The digital download IS the CD version of the game, so everything is the same.
See the attached snapshot of my current Soviet WW2 LC off of my 1080i Wide-screen monitor.

nope - the forum software seems to downsize picture files - lets try it wrapped inside inside a zip file instead...

Yep - that works, download, extract and open.

Re: is the graphics the same in CD and as digital download
Yes, I consulted with Shrapnel and that was their suggestion as well as the forums will not handle a 1920x1080 image
Here's the one I was trying to post. This map is zoomed out I believe one step from 1:1 and mine is a PNG so it does not have the distortion you get with Andys JPG. JPG's are the worst way to show screen shots unless they are set up for best quality but that's the "go to" format almost everyone uses and why I like PNG
I'll post a 1:1 zoom level version in a few minutes

Here's the same map but at the standard 1:1 zoom. Looking at that other one now I think that is two zoom levels in

Re: is the graphics the same in CD and as digital download
Plus - Don's version shows that its working fine in windows 8.1, for those who need to know that sort of stuff. Check the desktop "furniture".
Mine was grabbed from my soon to be retired XP box, but using alt+printscreen to only grab the active game window and not the desktop furniture too.
SP screen grab 101:
- Use windowed mode
- scroll map to the bit you like
- ALT+PrintScreen - the active window only goes to paste buffer
- PrintScreen on its own grabs the entire desktop to the paste buffer.
- Now open your paint programme (eg Irfanview) and paste from the paste buffer into it, then 'save as' a file.
cheers

Still, it is to be said that only the battle terrain window is in big resolution, all other (encyclopedia, roster, campaign, ..) are 640x480, so they are small windows in big screen. However, there is a mod to have bigger fonts...
