That depends. If you are using any ... let's say “decent” Windows OS, you can hibernate your computer instead of shutting it off which means you won't have to shut the game off either. My experience with the game is such that it is possible to hibernate your computer and then return to it without anything exploding in any weird way.
That being said, on some other OSes it might be possible to hibernate too, and generally I don't see the reason why it wouldn't be on any, but as I am not using any other OS I can't guarantee that it's possible on those. |
Thanks Kazeto. Good of you to take the trouble to reply. I can hibernate the computer but other household members rather that I don't leave it on (powered) over night - bad previous life experience.
