Autohide IS NOT an issue when using fullscreen mode.....or at least it wasn't. I'm still not sure if it's an issue with windows 10 or not.
As we say in the game quide.....

that's the telltail autohide was on....in WINDOWED mode. At the time I thought he had said he didn't have trouble running the game with autohide on with windows 7 referring to
windowed mode. I see now he was referring to fullscreen, as are you
