I have not played it myself, but looking at the design notes the defensive Brits cannot have massive amounts of artillery at hand.

Do you by any chance happen to travel in a long column along a road? This tends to make you into a very predictable target for artillery fire. Also, have you tried using counter-battery fire against enemy on-map artillery assets?

I have tried to keep moving off road in order to avoid the British artillery, but, my efforts are ineffective.

I'll have to learn more about Counter Battery fire. This would be unspotted fire with no spotter LOS to the target, right?
