question about satelites
playing the demo (I ordered, but it is on backorder :-( )....Is it possible to have several satelites sitting next to a warp point? I can't seem to get it to do that...anyone please help????
What I am trying to do is get my satelites next to my warp point for system protection...but can't seem to get them to get away from the planet....I can load them up on another ship with no problem, but i cannot unload unless onto another ship or a planet....

Re: question about satelites
You need a Satelite Bay component on the ship that will be delivering the satelite.

Re: question about satelites
And you need to use the Launch/Recover Units or the Launch Units Remotely command, not the Transfer Cargo command.

Re: question about satelites
So, I have a follow up question.
In a simultaneous game, will satelites appear as one group, or multiple Groups if launched on different turns.
E.G.
Turn 1: Launch 20 Satelites.
Turn 2: Launch 20 more Satelites.
I would like to be able to make them a single stack so that the less shielded ones will be protected by the more-shielded ones.
Thanks,
-- Seamus

Re: question about satelites
Single stack. Same with mines, *not* the same with fighters, and drones never stack.

Re: question about satelites
Thanks!
Another follow-up. I've read that shield points on units don't act as shields, but rather like armor.
However, when I simulate satelites with shields versus phased weapons, the shields seem non-effective. They do seem to work against DUC's etc.
Is this info. no longer valid (1.67 gold)?
Thanks again,
