In the absence of actual fact given, as you say, " most armies an infantry battalion has a heavy weapons company or platoon" it is safe to assume it does and if you are having trouble finding that info it may be because ROK wants it that way
That's not the help you need but it's the best we can do with the scant info available. This is an army expected to fight. It works closely.....very closely, with the US Army and would, if need be fight along side...it's a safe bet the organization of ROK HW coys or Plt are similar to the US
