windows 10 problem

strange i did noting and installed only the windows 10 update and it is running agaign

Nothing strange for windows 10!

The last update borked windows explorer for one folder only (MBT) whereby it will only let me change the folder's sort type if I am in details view - if in list view, no "sort by type". Change the folder name and all works as it should - but as it's a development folder other things want to talk to, not an option.

With windows 10 if you have a problem and it appears after an update - wait till the next release... it may sort out what it broke in the last one. Maybe.
