All weapons in SE4 have their place. The null space cannon is IMHO the most well balanced weapon in SE4, a task which MM clearly didn't take lightly. It is the equalizer for heavily defended ships. It deals some serious hurt to ordinary ships. It takes a lot of research. It only goes up 3 levels. Its range is moderate. Its slow reload makes it suicidal to use alone. It's cost in radioactives could bankrupt an empire that didn't plan to depend on it. |
