Default Re: Ukraine OOB New and Old Toys

Brimestones In Ukraine have been mentioned. Apparently, they have been in country since the end of last year and have been tested but IDK if they have actually been used in combat yet

It appears to be used from light trucks from a twin mount and fired in pairs and how they would be classified in game terms is like the Spike NLOS that's in the South Korean OOB.

From what I have seen so far this ground-launched use for the limestone has been under investigation for a few years in various nations so ground launching is not a new Ukrainian innovation and I have found CGI proposed launch vehicles that could carry many of them. I have yet to confirm if they are indeed NLOS but the indicators are that they are.

So this is a "field testing" exercise

Fallout Re: Ukraine OOB New and Old Toys

On the opposite side of the "spectrum" since at least June of last year Russia has been using their active versions of the S-300 to attack land targets by adding a GPS component to the warhead.

https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zon...raine-official
(Claims the system can also attack to at 10km min. range.)Russian

(This from Belarus in OCT. 2011.)

Also, since about December last year, the same has been adapted for the S-400 series both of which provides for a long-range capability of at least 120-150km or more depending on missile type used. The S-400 missiles can hit targets out to 400km.

The same has been adapted for the Russian Navy launched Anti-Ship missiles this to would only require a minor reconfiguration to be made.

The accuracy would fall in the category of "Close enough for Government Work" against soft targets in a wider space "bombardment" mode.

And of course, this causes for us further headaches. Brought to us by the Russians due to the shortages in multiple type Land Attack missiles.

The "coin" does have two sides.

BRIMSTONE 2:
Looks like the first shipment arrived in May last. These are additional shipment received in Nov last.

I like the use of what appears to be a non-descript delivery truck. MOST EXCELLENT!

The NEW DEAL:
UK to send 600 more BRIMSTONES.

(Typical of the rest NOTE what it says about Ukrainian training goals for '23.)

We're doing the same now,

UK LAUNCHER TESTING:

https://ukdefenceforum.net/viewtopic.php?t=1126
(Also had an article showing a test launch from an M270 series launcher which of course I can't find now. But these are a way off especially for the AJAX.)

Regards,
Pat
