The 'Mainstays' are still around (as in the latest Version of Pirates and Nomads, the TDM-Modpack, Dereks Mod, the Devnullmod {with space monsters!!

}). If you want some interesting maps then try Imperator Fyrons Quadrant Mod. I of course must toot my own horn and recommend the latest Version of 'Deathstalker's Mount Mod' (either the regular Version or the CryOrg Version that makes the crystalline/Organic AI's tougher).

There are many others around but the above ones are the best IMO of the ones I've tried.
