Re: calling all players
There seem to be some problems, but I quess we just have to try and see. The IP that should connect is 80.223.102.19 ,the port is 1111.
To connect to a server, you have to choose Network from DomII main menu, then enter the ip, then the port, and if everything would work you could then play your turn. However, I'm afraid it won't connect, as I was unable to connect today when I last tested it. Does anyone know if numpad works? I seem to recall that numbers entered with numpad didn't work for the ip address even though they looked the same, but was this fixed?
It will be about 7 hours before I'll open my computer and set DomII as ready to host, so try again then. Please, post here or e-mail me whether it works or not, and while you are at it, tell if you finished your turn or not. The game isn't set to auto-host, as I'm not sure if everyone will be able to connect to my computer. Because of that, nothing will happen before I host it myself, and that won't happen before we get this to work properly. When we reach that point, I'll set up the sheduled autohosting.

Re: calling all players
UPDATE:
Our home connection seems to start coughing every now and then. Earlier today, I couldn't even get a browser anywhere before restarting my computer twice and the modem once.
The networks seemed to work nicely now, but then I hit error with Dominions. It just throws a "Network Error" at me when I try to start it as a server.
EDITED
Okay, DomII didn't work because the port 1111 was already in use... by the game itself! I used --textonly switch to have the game to run insivibly, but didn't think it worked because I didn't see anything.
So, it seems there are no problems with Dominions on this end.

Re: calling all players
Hmm, I completely forgot about that. I'll send the files to you all right away. Thanks for reminding me, and sorry about forgotting them.
EDIT: I sent the turns, but forgot to tell what to send back. Until I get the TCP/IP to work, we might as well play a few turns in the old way.
The folder in which you placed the .trn file you should have gotten is the folder for this game. After you have played your turn, your orders will appear there in the nation.2h file. That is, you'll have arcos.2h or ulm.2h or... Of course, you only can get the .2h for the nation you play, so this should be simple enough in this case. You can e-mail this .2h file to me, and if I have everyones' order, I can place them to the correct folder, generate the new turn and send the new .trn files back to you. However, we hopefully WON'T have to do this too many times, as I'm trying to get the TCP/IP thing to work.

Re: calling all players
Try if you can connect to the TCP/IP. That is, choose Network, Connect to Server, enter 80.223.102.19 as the IP, 1111 as the port. If it works, you can just play your turn.
If it doesn't, you should put the .trn file I emailed to you to a folder (named 'smeg', 'calling', 'game' or anything)in your main Dominions II folder. You can then start Dominions and play a game with that name. After you are finished, you should e-mail the orders-file for me. The orders are in the folder you created for the game, in a file named "ulm.2h" or similar, depending on your nation.
