Well, there's three wars now. Oceania and R'lyeh will have to fill you in on the details of the war in the ocean.

In the north, Pan has lost a few provinces, and about 1/4 of his maenad horde. No forts have fallen yet, but two are under siege. A few Pan temples have been razed. Mictlan lost an Enchantress a couple months ago.

In the south, Ermor and Mictlan have traded a few provinces through raids. A couple of Ermorian temples have been razed. One fort of Ermor is under siege. About 1/5 of Ermor's undead horde has been killed. Mictlan lost a High Priest, a couple of turkeys, and a Werewolf. My Djinn has more than 2000 kills now so he'll probably die in a bad dream pretty soon.

Mictlan has more research, more SCs and soon more troops.

He just killed 1350 units with two castings of rain of stones...

Mictlan has won, and there is not much i (or anyone else) can do about it.

Mictlan does not want to count any eggs before they have hatched into Turkeys, but we have to agree that the most recent results do not bode well for either Pan or Ermor.

Though, the Looming Hell is an interesting twist. But it doesn't do much to stop my solo commanders from rampaging through Pan's lands.

No one thought R'lyeh to be the big baddie, but oceania in the water would be much better for ermor, as we would have been able to sweep the water without much resistance.

I made 2 errors in judgement:

First i would have been able to take jotunheim alone, so mictlan would have had less provinces to begin with.

Second i tought Shin stronger, and Mictlan weaker, so i hoped that their fight would weaken both. (But as everyone knew, Mictlan crushed shin in 3 turns without much losses)

btw. i am willing to surrender, as Mictlan will win for sure.

I think around turn 30 (it was before Pan even got their sub) I messaged everybody about needing to stop Mictlan immediately; that they were already getting too powerful and if the world didn't act then it would be too late. but most others thought there was no real threat or were too busy in some other minor war to act. (except for Pan, but then that player left).

Mictlan vulched provinces off of Pyth, Bandar Log, and Ctis, but never faced a real threat from any of them. They were able to pick up lots of land without facing a real war. Myself (Shinuyama) actually lost my entire main army _after_ pythium went AI. The AI sent about 10 A1 mages and 20 troops (all they had left) to face my army of 400+ Dai Bakemono. They killed every one of them! How? Spamming confusion. That event is actually why Confusion got nerfed in the most recent CBM.

Regardless of that event, I couldn't have faced down Mictlan alone. He had a huge research lead and huge gem lead. Huge armies of _quality_ units. All the artifacts. I pm'd everyone again warning of the dire situation. Not enough people were willing to act

Oceania requests some slack, as we weren't around to get the memo.

Well, Mictlan had a few battles with a couple Pythium armies that were in Bandar's lands, I seem to remember a few Hydras, and also a largish infantry army. But since I was attacking their expansion (Bandar) I didn't have to face their capitol mages or thugged-out god. I think my flying Eagles of Doom (TM) would have been useful though. And I was even considering an assassination lightning strike on Pyth's god, until I realized that he was doing me a favor by punishing you so much.

I didn't fight C'tis either, just a Jotun army, and Jaguars of Doom (TM) are giant killers. And since I was attacking Jotun's expansion too, I didn't need to face their home guard of mages either. It's good timing to attack a nation's expansion when they have just finished (or almost just finished) polishing off the previous inhabitants.

But I think in both cases I would have been able to handle a "real war" quite easily. I never lost a group of warriors since turn 1, and put up my third fort at the end of year 1, and never took a break from recruiting sacreds. Dom10 to start equals lots of warriors. Mictlan does not need battle magic early on, so I rushed const-6 and built a ton of lanterns. I was lucky to find a couple Enchantress sites (though C'tis and Shin could have had them too), which helped me do artifact forging. And I also managed to pump out quite a few clams early on too.

By the time I got in a war with Shin, I had Fog Warriors, and Fog Warriors plus S9F9 blessed warriors is nasty. Plus I have Rain of Stones to eliminate pesky mages.

The biggest threat to me all game was R'lyeh, with their Burden of Time. But since I had the Chalice, and my High Priests can trapeze, I didn't even lose any of them either.

Ermor was a big threat too, but I'd been saving fire gems for Purgatory, and it's still up, and now I've got even more fire gems saved up to recast if it comes down.

We can continue if Pan has some nefarious scheme for victory and would like to keep playing, but my tartarian factory is opening very soon, so the future does not bode well for the halfmen. I've also got more Golem SCs in the pipe to handle Pan's large manikin forces.

R'lyeh is always a pain to invade, but Oceania is doing quite nicely against them. And I think they only have 10 candles left, and once I've filled Shin's empty provinces with my dominion, I'm quite certain they will be dom killed before Oceania reaches their capitol.

Oceania was a huge help, with their ability to take on R'lyeh. And also for getting me into this whole big war in the first place ... if Oceania hadn't asked for help against R'lyeh, Shin would never have feared the "Oceania-Mictlan alliance", so he would not have attacked Oceania. There was no "Oceania-Mictlan alliance" to speak of until Shin attacked Oceania, and I think Oceania and Mictlan may have never even agreed on a NAP.

So, if anyone wants to continue, I'm game, but I'm also willing to call it a victory for Mictlan here.
