Shouldn't matter : only the host actually needs the .map file. If you have the artifact mod, the CB 5.1 mod, and the basic Shahrivar map, you're ready.

Do you know this for a fact Caine? The links and terrain of the version of Shahrivar for this game are not the same as the revised version. At least not completely.
Shovah, you should download the map that I have posted to be 100% sure that you are ready. And if the link is still not working for you, why have you not emailed or IM'd me? I gave you my contact info in a PM like two days ago just so that I could send you the map via a different medium.
Regardless, shovah's pretender is not the one holding up the show, it's Folket (Tien Chi). Just checked and he still has not uploaded. Does anyone here know his email or IM ids? Some other way to contact him?

Ah - if you are seeing this "artifact shahrivar (revised)" then you have the correct map for the game. You're set. As I said before don't use that map for practice (it wont work like that), just leave it there for the main game.

Yes, that is absolutely the case. So, for instance, if you were to run your own server (let's call it kludgemoosh.com), you could edit the mapfile to specify where everyone starts, and to have some prime magic sites start right near you...
you only need the .tga; you don't need the .map to join a server game.

Yeah thats what I've done here. The mapfile that I distributed has no artifact or start location information, so that no player can open it and see where everyone is. Only the server's .map file has that info.
What concerns me tho is that some small changes were made to terrain and possibly province neighbors by the third party that I sent the map to for start placement. I am not sure if that information is communicated to the client you know? Doesnt the client use its local .map file to display neighbors and terrain info? And if thats the case, you could wind up with a client that says province A is a forest, when in fact it is a wasteland? I'm not sure...
