Re: Official Image Collection
Ok, my mirrors are updated now.
I have altered the stellar cartography section of my web site. What do you think of the new format?

Re: Official Image Collection
Reposted here for good measure.
Unless Andres (how DO you do that thing above the e?) objects, here's my submission for the imagemod.
http://members.cox.net/se4imagemod/PDsubmit1.zip
Includes the two ringworld images plus two of mine- a smaller WP and a stellar-sized Black Hole.

I just copy-paste the character from Andrés' Posts
Fyron:
The stellar cartography section looks good. In order to improve the navigation through it, I suggest putting a little info icon on those planets that have the extra detail page. As well, on the galaxy map, something to indicate the stars that have hyperlinks would be nice. An icon or a bracket of some sort.

Re: Official Image Collection
To get é, hold down ALT and type 0233.
If you need to do it a lot I am pretty sure you could reprogram an f-key to do it or make a hot key for it. You can also buy a non-english keyboard which will sometimes have a key for it, depending on the language it's intended for.
Geoschmo
Edit: I guess I was wrong about being able to reprogram a key to do it. But I guess as long as you can remember the keystrokes it's not that difficult to do. You can also go to start/programs/accesories/character map if you forget the keystrokes.

Re: Official Image Collection
NP adding those ringworlds. If you want I can try making another variation.
BTW I'm making a few more pics for the sci-fi crossover mod. I have a few more new comps, retouched a little some facilities and used a full line in the torps pic (81-90).
Wow I didn't know about the Alt+0233 (UCS - Unicode) I used Alt+130 (ASCII)
HTML code is é
Edit changed html code since it WORKS in this forums.
I have a spanish keyboard, the only char that has an exclusive keys is the Ñ. To type the é you have to type the ´ first and then the "e".
My old 486 had a US international keyboard, but it was configured for spanish and I could type it by typing '+e

Hmm, spaceports seems to have disappeared. Guess I can't make any changes at the moment.

SJ:
Well, spaceports has returned. I placed a small graphic next to all the planets that have info pages. What sort of graphic would be good on the galaxy map? I didn't really want to mess it up with little icons everywhere, but if there is a problem, I can make do.

Well, let's see. At first I couldn't find the section you were talking about, and gave up. Now I found it.. but the stellar map takes up about, oh, a 5th of the screen. You didn't design for 800x600 I take it..

Re: Official Image Collection
Well, no. I assumed that not many people with more than a passing interest in computer use would be using 800x600 resolution. Heck, I use 1280x1024, so I have to resize my screen to check it out on the optimal resolution (1024x768). I guess those 224 pixels make a huge difference. My main page used to say that the site is designed for at least 1024x768 (and 16-bit color and Internet Explorer), but I guess that paragraph fell off into a void a while back. I think I'll add it back in there when I get a chance.
If you still want to see my site, you could temporarily change your screen resolution to 1024x768.

Re: Official Image Collection
I just cut 16 pixels off the top frame in the cartography section.
My plan is to eventually eliminate the frame on the top of my site and replace it with a drop-down navigation menu. Unfortunately, I can't get it to work on the server at the moment, so I need to figure out why. My menu works on my computer, but it screws up when I upload it to my site. Very strange.
