Dominions 3 Version 3.04 Now Available!

this patch has completely destroyed my game. all my turns hang forever and i can't connect to any multiplayer games. sometimes i get this error: convarmynbr. what happened?

Although it's not major part of this patch of course, but it's about time Oni got price reduction - the oni's demonic troops are absolutely useless in MP ATM, I've played them in several MP by now and I am more convinced than ever that this is the case. Almost all other players with whom I spoke about it feel the same. I wish they would also get some MR increase - the banishment is the worst problem with Oni's national troops, especially with their size 1 small demons, just as I wrote in my Oni's analysis.

Could somebody please post new prices for oni troops? I won't be able to upgrade my Dom3 game for few more days, and I am curious.

Well you could, but then you couldn't play any of the other races... Besides, there have been a couple bugs fixed since the original release which are really nice to have for multiplayer games (like fixing the problems with random maps loading in MP games, and with downloading maps in linux, etc)...

Followed the readme instructions but it's not working.

Console output shows a bunch of "permission denied" messages.

Tried setting permissions to read + write but still, no luck.

"Get Info" on the Dominions3.app and make sure that you have permissions to read and write. If you do, do the same on the Dominions 3 folder, and hit the button (under the "Details:" tab) to "Apply to enclosed items..."

Have done that, but still, same results.

Have you tried using a different login account which has full rights? Based on the errors it definitely looks like some type of permissions/access issue.

Am using account with full admin rights.

Have partially succeeded in installing. I had to "Open Package Contents" on Dominions 3 folder (after moving App to desktop, which is the most bizarre patch instruction sequence I've ever executed) and apply read + write to "enclosed" items. That eliminated about 75% of the error messages and now when I start the game it shows 3.04.

However, it is running extremely slow (even slower than I remember running on my old G4 PB). And it looks like that might be due to the message output where SDL stuff was not successfully written to (even though it in same place as rest of stuff and I verified those folders all had read+write).

I don't understand why the patch process has to be so convoluted (it's even gotten worse than Dom2 where I had to reinstall original version before applying patch on each patch version). Everything else, you just click on the patcher or simply drag an icon over to /Applications.

I love Dom3 but at this point I am extremely frustrated and disappointed over spending a bundle of money (at least to me and my state of finances at present time) for a game that I can't even play unless I spend more time eliminating and reverting…
