Having some blood on the pretender can also help a lot a non blood nation to get up a small blood economy, so as to forge boots of youth. Many factions have old mages.
By the way, does anyone knows another way to bypass old age ? (apart from the blood spell rejuvenate)

From what I have read on these forums, Boots of Youth both stops aging (Doesn't make the mage younger though) and prevents afflictions due to Old Age.
Edit: Ooopsy. Misread , A Growth Scale helps too.

Re: Reinvigoration and Communions
Empowering nature a whole lot? Every level of nature brings the old age threshold a bit higher. Just giving a nature buffing item to a nature mage with old age does that, too.
But why everyone always forget about the Elixir of Life? Has the same effect as boots of youth by stopping aging, but has the added ability of giving an extra life in battle. Only bad part about it is the somewhat strange combo of nature and fire as the paths which are required to make it. But it ought to be good if you have access to mages with nature and fire while having no blood economy.

We'll, the Elixir of Life requies 20 gems to forge (10 natureand 10 fire), so it's not even nearly as cheap as the Boots, which only require Blood slaves. You can mass forge boots and easily boot like 30+ mages. I really can't see anyone doing that with the Elixirs.
Besides, the Reinvogration from the boots is also good in battle.

I believe I tested it, and the blood spell that removes all fatigue doesn't have any effect on communion slaves.
Summon Earth Power is great spell to cast in a communion though, since all the slaves get the reinvig.
|
dammit, that sure sucks cause reinvigoration will kill the slaves in that case...
is it a bug or working as intended?

Re: Reinvigoration and Communions
I was doing some tests trying to figure something out and it turns out the blood spell reinvigoration does affect slaves. It also doesn't appear to cost any blood slaves to cast, despite what the description says.
The 100 fatigue on sabbath master is driving me nuts, especially since my mages wear armor

Give them extra slaves for the casting?

Re: Reinvigoration and Communions
Yeah, I always forget the nature bonus to max age : renders more comprehensible the crone chassis.
Elixir seems nice : I'll try an ultra prismatic pretender, to test all those weird items. Nice to know good boys have an alternative to blood.(even if...well you know...one virgin more or less)

duke_commando - oh, in that case, apologies - guess I must have bungled my tests or something.
