Re: Item transfer improvement
No, but it'd be nice to be able to just quickly assign magic items to a bunch of units without having to enter the inventory of each one.
That sounds like something for Dom4 though, rather than for a patch :P

Re: Item transfer improvement
There are alot of windowsy things that get asked for. But unless it works for all the systems the game is for, its unlikely.
Keep in mind, this isnt a Windows game that linux people can play.
Its a Linux game that is ported over to windows and mac os-x

Re: Item transfer improvement
I don't think you can call drag-and-drop "Windowsy". It's a basic part of (almost?) all modern OSes.
On the other hand I believe Illwinter dislike working on the GUI (and who can blame them?), so that's definitely a dom4 thing.

Re: Item transfer improvement
I like that 2 commanders in a non-lab province and can't trade, for example, helmets. Apparently magic items can't touch the ground. Like flags.

On the GUI, you mean. I, for one, welcome the Illwinter operating system where there will be a "Nagot gick fel screen of death" instead of a BSOD and Doom Horrors will take control of your Desktop when you have installed too many things without looking again.
Also, I have once again to remind you that there are no official plans to get a Dom4 game from Illwinter. At all. The "secret project" thing has always been mentioned as being "something else" - from the time that Dom3 has been released, even.
Also, I'm sorry cleveland, but I really can't give you any more rep, you have already used up the allotted volume long ago. LOL!

Are you defining Linux GUI-wise as Motif or something equally 80s?

Re: Item transfer improvement
it would also be lovely if you could get gems/ slaves back from mercs on the same turn you gave them to them, although I suspect its too much trouble... foer some reason I always accidentally transfer gems to mercs, maybe if they werent the default trading partner, by having lower ID's?

I doubt that we'll see drag and drop in Dominions, too, though.
