Re: OT- Favorite Sci Fi Ship?
I've never really liked the star wars ships. They do have some nice fighters though.
I kinda like some star trek ships, but as mentioned earlier, you get some of them from the wrong angle and they just look ugly.
B5 has some very nice ships. I can't wait to see the new series, the cgi crew for B5 has really gotten a lot better.
What? No adnromeda fans out there? It has some of the most complex looking ships in Sci Fi.

Re: OT- Favorite Sci Fi Ship?
hmm... The Red Dwarf was pretty cool. Also, I loved some of the ships in ther Elite series of games- the classic Cobra MkIII, the gecko, the viper...

Re: OT- Favorite Sci Fi Ship?
Definitely, the Imperial Star destroyers from Star Wars are my favorite ships and have been for, well, twenty-plus years. I also like the troop ships from Starship Troopers. My favorite fighter is probably the Gunstar from The Last Starfighter.

Re: OT- Favorite Sci Fi Ship?
I think the Heart of Gold (Hitch Hiker's Guide) was probably one of the most entertaining ships in any sci-fi series I have ever seen/read.
The Dark Knife (one of the Bab 5 ancient ships) was also pretty cool, but it was barely seen in the show.

Re: OT- Favorite Sci Fi Ship?
As an old player of Star Fleet Battles, (both the paper and the Miniatures Version), I loved the Lyran and Gorn ships from there. Maybe I can post a few paint jobs at my site some day.

Re: OT- Favorite Sci Fi Ship?
Completely forgot about the gunstar! That is definitely the coolest fighter to date.
Superstar destroyer? Firghtening? Come on, it's a giant cheese wedge in space. I think the Shadows from B5 had some frightening ships.

Re: OT- Favorite Sci Fi Ship?
it may be a cheese wedge, but its impressive in a monolithic sort of way. the big black rectangles managed to look impressive in 2010. its just sort of daunting.
some really cool capital ships are to be found in the warships section of BattleTech Technical Readout: 2027, the one on lost starleague technology. I think the newer ships look like ***, but Loose's old artwork was top notch. there are also some sweet fighter designs strewn about various battletech books.
another cool fighter, were the ones flown by the big-blue-neohumans in that short lived animated saturday morning show where the humans were over thrown by their own genetic creations and were fighting a guerilla war against them from the moons of jupitor in these powered suits. the Cap ships in that serise were not bad either. what was its name? the only guys name I remember was Bronskie, who at one time was heard to say "Theres nothing like making sure!" after truely overkilling a neohuman. YES! a saturday morning cartoon that glorified war and violence, no wonder it was short lived. i dont think anyone even died in GI JOE, the sensitivity trained wusses.

Exo-Squad. The paint jobs on the fighter craft and Exo-frames looked silly, but yes it was a rather cool show.
Hm. I do like the Andromeda show. Especially since a few battles I've seen on them appear to take distance in space into account. Eg, Rommie fires a bunch of missiles. Show a bunch of dots on the tactical display. Then cut to scene of a bunch of missiles blowing away the target.
"The Basilisk has turned into a planet... no wait, it's firing planets. Lots of planets." -Trance Gemini, watching sensors as said ship fires it's point singularity projector.

Re: OT- Favorite Sci Fi Ship?
Hands down this has gotta be the 'Argo' (Starblazers) for me. Followed closely by the Phoenix (Battle of the Planets/G-Force). It's not really a ship but I also like the T.A.R.D.I.S (Dr.Who). Now the most fearsome looking ship has to go to a Super Star Destroyer (Vader's ship in Empire).
