I'm going to piggy-back on MarkSheppard here, when it comes to Microsoft OS, I wait until businesses install it, when they adopt it, then I take serious notice. The Exchange Server 2013 is cool from what I hear. Back to OS's, I loved Windows NT-5, it was strong. I took awhile to migrate to 7, by-passed Vista, didn't bite on 8, and now am doing my wait-and-see on 10. If they have a professional or enterprise edition I'm interested.
My two cents worth.

Re: Windows 10 Status and yes there'll be no Win 9.
Last week I decided that there are certain aspects I don't really care for in 8.1 so with that said, I've reserved my free upgrade to Win 10 for the 29 July release date. My thinking is Win 10 can't be that much worse (Though I know it can.) so, I'll be sure to have have started one of my two current campaigns in 8.1 which has been running both without any issues since converted from XP. If there are any specific issues you want me to look for outside of normal game play just let me know. In fact I think I'll start both as one takes place in the mid 80's and the other is actually in "real time".
Regards,
Pat

Re: Windows 10 Status and yes there'll be no Win 9.
For anyone that has experienced this issue during the download and or update process concerning activation of the "Airplane Mode" my cable/internet provider could find only two solutions reload 10 with apps/files saved or a clean reboot. Opted for the first and just got on the net Fri. after almost a week before work. This option however still caused me to reload graphics card, mother board and other software to further include security suite etc. Also I lost my Mozilla Firefox I had prior to being knocked offline, this resulted in losing 8 yrs. worth of data for equipment the big hit was in the APC area. Sorry I tried everything the data is lost and unrecoverable from Mozilla and the auto backup did not pick up the previously saved items. This is a hot trending item on the web here under Airplane Mode/or Loss of Ethernet connection can't connect to the internet. The limited reboot did get to the net (Obviously) now however the Airplane Mode is still on and will not shut off. Notified MS last Sun/was escalated to the ready...escalation trouble shooting echelon/was supposed to hear back by Tue. they called Thur./Fri. of course when I'm at work./currently awaiting call back (3hr.+ hold/or call back wait.)/I figure that'll kill the rest of my day/evening. And if they tell me to reboot I swear I'll "crawl" through my phone to India.
This was as it's turning out now, a smaller issue with Win 8/8.1.
Stay away from the Airplane Mode button in Settings!!
Game wise hope to start playing tonight looks like the games survived all this crap intact. Let you know when I recoup/revive and find my happy place again.
NOTE: They are seeing this issue to a lesser degree with hand held devices and tablets... be careful!!
It figures I'd be the one to catch the torpedo up my...engine room!!
Regards,
Pat
P.S. My initial Win 10 download worked perfectly fine for about 24-36 hrs.

All I can say is let us know if anything doesn't work at least as well as it does in win8.1 and if you think something works better let everyone know what it does better. I'm going to be taking the plunge as well

Thanks to all those brave souls who are willing to try this out for us!
(I'm sticking to my tried and tested Win 7 for a good few months yet)

Well a novice and an expert can't ask for a better pairing. In deference to the great Lord Nelson, hopefully we'll not have made a mistake and end up as cannon fodder.

Re: Windows 10 Status and yes there'll be no Win 9.
I installed Windows 10 over my old Windows 7. So far the only program not working is winSPMBT. I have upgraded to the most recent version of winSPMBT. It fails to open under Windows 10.

Re: Windows 10 Status and yes there'll be no Win 9.
Based on the the last two posts, verified one of my current campaigns is working in full screen mode with 8.1. However what's missing is my Win 10. Found a handful of news articles from mid May until about a week before Win 10 release. It seems a "download hierarchy" is in place for the free download to...1) The 5 million beta testers. 2) Multiple OS package buyers. 3) Current OS operating status from 8.1 > 8.0 > 7.0 within that grouping the downloads will be conducted in what MS has dubbed as "waves" to everyone else. In short I haven't gotten my yet. So I'm stuck for now.
Regards,
Pat
