It also depends on the air pressure!

Zero air pressure, and it boils instantly. No watching involved.

It also depends on how many people are standing around watching it. You know, our breath is warm... so the more people the faster it will warm up. No? Oh... Ok... I just had to get my strange answer in here somehow...

Have you read the short story "Marooned off Vesta" by Isaac Asimov? The story is based on exactly this principle.

Yes, the boiling of the pot will depend on whether there is an observer looking at it. Until there is an observation made, the pot is neither boiling nor not boiling; it is in an indeterminate state in which there is a probability distribution of boiling/not-boiling possibilities. The instant someone looks at it, one of the possible states becomes the actual state, and the other probabilites fall away.
I have to get my strange answer in here, too.

The strangest thing is that the strangest answer (Kamog) is probably the true one.
Unless you're in the Cantina, anyway, in which case cartoon physics apply.

If it did it was only Shroedinger's cat being scalded.
