Ditto! That's what I use those tiny planets for also. Mostly storage, unless the planet has a tremendous amount of minerals, organics or rads. Then I might put a mining facility there instead.

I usually build monoliths on them if they have decent resource values, actually.

Tiny planets if close to a "flight path" make a good place to put a resupply depot.
If you take the time to build a Ship Yard there you can put lots of Ship Yard Bases over it, then scrap the ship yard. Careful, if you do this, don't mothball all of the shipyards or you will have to send a ship yard ship to unmothball them.

Caution II, don't retrofit ships where the engines will change if you do not have a resupply depot there or solar sails in the new design.

besides everything already said, you can also STEAL COLONY OR TRANSPORT SHIP with other type populations.

Also a great place for Urban Pac. Centre, System Robotoid Factory etc.
