Not sure if its the answer but it might be worth pointing out that the two developers are Swedish (I believe) and most of the alpha testers were Finnish? Thats the impression I got anyway.

Re: Introduce yourself!! :-)
Sure, but then I'd expect a lot of Swedish and Finnish names, not Polish ones - especially like Szczebrzeszyn, which is a kind of an inside joke I suspect a Pole on either the dev or the testing team
Anyway, thanks for the welcome and congratulations to Illwinter on shipping!

Re: Introduce yourself!! :-)
The map was made by Jason Lutes. I have no clue as to where he got the names from
Does Szczebrzeszyn have anything to do with bumble bees?
Illwinter and alpha are mainly swedish AFAIK. A few of unknown nationalities (likely european and american) as well.

Well an insect anyway, yes ... it's used in a phrase along with the town name as a tongue twister for kids and foreigners. The kids usually do better
Does Jason Lutes collect tongue twisters? Or insects? Or both? o_O

...or then they just got tired of hearing complains that the game wasn't polished enough..? "Now here's a map with maximum Polish!"

Hello!
I was brought here via the excellent Silent Seas AAR posted by St. Patrik. I'm not sure what specific aspect did it, but it was a very compelling piece that has me considering purchase of a game that was only remotely on my radar.
Remotely, because I originally deemed the game too hardcore - but the AAR made it seem like taking time to learn it would be quite worthwhile

Wow
I'm really flattered! Thanks for the compliment

I have a suedo-polish friend that has tried to make me utter an unspeakable sentence about a bumble bee (perhaps another insect) flying in reeds or something.
