Re: CarCrash - EA Game - CBM - (Running)
I hate to say it, but considering he didnt ask for an extension of the turn there is really no reason to expect an 8 hour delay to make any difference. Obviously it could pottentially make a difference but if he has neglected submitting his turn up to this point I just dont see that 8 hours will mean much in the end when it wasnt requested.
It may be a good idea to go ahead and look for a sub, then if Bluff doesnt come back or acknowladges in the thread that he is having Real life problems and needs one then we are a step ahead of the game. And on the otherhand if you find a sub and he does come back and get his turns in on time then you can kindly thank the sub and let him know you will keep him in mind in the future if we need him.
I'm guessing with the current stale situation though that we are more inclined to need the sub than not to need one though.
It's a shame though I was hoping to see the turn before I went to bed

Re: CarCrash - EA Game - CBM - (Running)
What's with the message from Host about Yomi having an unexplainable increase in wealth that can be caused by cheating?
I think Ive seen message's like that in nearly every game Ive every played and if memory serve's I think it's even said that about me once or twice. Anyone know what causes that? I seriously doubt everyone's cheating in all these games and I'd be surprised if any of the message's Ive seen have actually been caused by cheating so there has to be another reason.

Re: CarCrash - EA Game - CBM - (Running)
@ PsiSoldier - Yeah, I've had that message in a lot of my games. No idea what causes it. This is the second time that it's happened to one of my nations, and on neither occasion did I ever see anything appear gold/gem wise that wasn't expected.
I had a theory that it was linked to the mercs somehow, since the first game it happened to me in I was bidding on mercs at the time, but lost the province I was buying them for. Hence losing the mercs, and getting the gold-refund, which I thought was the 'unexpected increase in wealth' being reported. But when I tried reproducing that in test games I didn't get the message. So I went back to being puzzled by it
@ All - Niefelheim
Ok, I heard back from Bluff overnight, and it sounds like he's having a few RL problems. He didn't actually say that he wouldn't/couldn't continue with the game, but to be on the safe side I'm going to look for a sub (first chance I get).
@ All - Re: 8 hour un-requested delay last turn
I delayed the game 8 hours on the previous turn mainly because that pushed the hosting back to 11am llamaserver time, which should have equated to the late evening in Australia (where I'm pretty certain Bluff is from). So my theory was that if Bluff was away over the weekend, and than into work on the Monday, Monday evening might have been the first chance he got to check his emails etc. I bit of guesswork on my part, but thought it was worth the 8 hours to see if it panned out.
Also, when I was arranging a cease-fire with Niefelheim about 40 turns ago, the majority of the many PM's I exchanged with Bluff were during the 7am-10am llamaserver time window. So again I hoped that a 11am llamaserver time hosting would have caught Bluff in his 'Dominions time' window, hence again my decision to tag-on the 8 hour delay in the hope of getting some sort of responce from Bluff before the double stale.
Anyway, enough chat Need to get some RL work done so that I can find time to throw-up a sub post this afternoon.

Time added as requested tgbob
@ All - For future reference.
If the turn is set to host anytime after 11am llamaserver time, then there's usually a good 95% chance I'll see any last minute delay requests. Only time I might miss one is if the turn is hosting 1am-11am llamaserver time, as those are the hours I'm usually sleeping and getting ready for work.
Since there's only a few of us left now, I might make sure the hosting time always happens at pm llamaserver time. As that way there's far less chance of me missing last minute delay requests due to being asleep.

Re: CarCrash - EA Game - CBM - (Running)
Forewarning, I was planning to move sometime this weekend but Typhoon Morakot decided to pay Taiwan a visit. My internet is going to be pretty flaky again.

@ tgbob - Thanks for the heads up on the Typhoon and dodgy internet warnings. I'll keep an eye on your turn and the deadline, and do what's needed to make sure Mother Nature doesn't cause you to stale.

Re: CarCrash - EA Game - CBM - (Running)
A few hours to go before hosting, and still no tgbob/Caelum turn. The news is still reporting that Typhoon Morakot is doing it's thing in tgbob's part of the world, so there's a fair chance his internet could be out at the moment. As he has already warned that dodgy internet is a very likely result of said Typhoon activity, so he has indirectly asked for a delay because of it.
So I'm going to add on a few hours for tgbob to help him avoid a stale. He has a good record of submitting turns on time, so pretty sure he won't keep us waiting. I would normally wait until nearer the deadline to add on the delay, but will probably be out of the office for the rest of the day, so won't have chance to keep a closer eye on things.
