That is unfortunate - but your team should be able to recover, especially as Niefelheim has a limitless ability to spend money.

I staled the first turn or 2 in the first Allegiances game(and many more during the game) and my team still won - although I wouldn't give myself too much credit for our victory ^^.
Sure you miss the resource production/early recruitment, but you get some very helpful gold.
