Or do I need to re-install and go install all the maps again after the patch...
Either way this doesn't seem like a good permanent solution. Perhaps maps could be added in the dominions2 directory in the user's Documents directory in a similar manner to mods?

The iPatch kept saying "Wrong file, patch not applied" for me too. Dele'd, reinstalled (back to 2.02) , downloaded the patch again... (as in: patch applied to an absolutely clean install... how painful)... STILL says "wrong file, patch not applied". (!!!) Hate to say it but the old way (the one I had all that trouble with Last month and plunked into the solution by accident) was easier once it was known how it worked. And to think it was my troubles that may have caused the redesign of the patch this way in the first place... (???)
ADD'L: Now I'm getting a new error message from the iPatch: Some files you tried to patch are locked or missing. Patch not applied. Maybe it expected 2.08 now and is surprised to see 2.02?

Re: New 2.11 Patch! +OS X Patching problem
God, I hate being at work right now!!! I want to be home tinkering around with the new patch! I'm really excited about the limited duration of paralyze. I had skirted SC production due to that problem and was just massing troops. There's so much more to think about now that I can make SC's...
Thanks, Illwinter!

Im having the same problems on my Windows machine. In fact it looks like even if I get it to fix the files I may have to get the docs off my Linux box (which seems to have upgraded fine).
I think it might be a problem with the installer-packaging software since I cant think of any reason for the program to check before copying over the files.
I may have to check and see if other files like the .trs files are cross-system compatible

Re: New 2.11 Patch! +OS X Patching problem
OK that seems to work. Getting the Linux PC patch and unpacking it then copying the files over. (not the dom2 executable of course, dont copy that).
I wonder if I should make a zip of all the files without the dom2.exe and make it available? Again I cant think of a reason for it to do the files checks before overwriting the files.

Re: New 2.11 Patch! +OS X Patching problem
all you OSXers - iPatch only works with the initial release of Dom II. Re-install from your cd and you should be able to patch successfully. It should work...or at least it worked for me.

Re: New 2.11 Patch! +OS X Patching problem
I am not able either to patch it. I tried the .app and I tried also selecting the Dominion2 executable inside the package but it didn't work....
Is there any other way to patch it?

Well, here's my sequence of events: reinstalled, downloaded patch, launched patch, dragged main Dom2's icon into the Drop Zone, and: (drumroll)
Some files you tried to patch are locked or missing. Patch not applied.
NEW ITEM: Cmd-I'd the app. Noticed it was set to "read-only". Set it to "read & write" and tried again. Presto!
(There I go again, answering my own questions... a day later...)

Re: New 2.11 Patch! +OS X Patching problem
Theres a pinned thread at the top of the screen called Hardware/Software Issues. It has a link to a thread about Max updates. I didnt bother reading it to see if it had any new answers

Re: New 2.11 Patch! +OS X Patching problem
Win user with no problems patching at all from 2.08.
Thanks IW- I have honestly never seen a game company that responds so well to the players. I *REALLY* appreciate all the fixes (especially the fast foward in battle replays ) and I was just about to post about cheat detection disabling.. but it's no longer a concern. Now, to make a 10/all paths pretender to try out all those uberspells..
Thanks again!
EDIT: Hmm.. looks like I spoke too soon. I see the option that says Cheat Protection is Active in the game creation screen, but clicking it doesnt do anything.. e.g. it can't be changed to inactive..
To repeat someone else's question since I never played Saber Cherry's mod, what kind of changes did it contain?

New 2.11 Patch! +OS X Patching problem
No-one else seems to have noticed that the new 2.11 patch is out!
I suppose I must have logged on to the Dom2 site at the right time...
Anyway, I would comment on it, but I can't as I'm having some problems installing on OS X. It seems that the iPatch checks to see if the app it's updating is what it expects before patching. Unfortunately this means that if you've added any extra maps or anything to your Dom2 install, it wont update. Is there any chance of realeasing an old-style OS X update?
