I really think they're relatively balanced. Strong for SP due to their having lots of neat little tricks and strengths a human can get the best out of, but in multi-player, I doubt they'd dominate an equally experienced player who had a pick of other nations.

One must always hope for a strong AI nation in SP play, hopefully the AI will learn to use them better and use their specialty units and spellsmore

a strong AI in sp play makes for an interesting game instead of easy victories for a human player vs ai

I'm one who does not like to see a strong ai weakened in a SP game, makes for a boring game otherwise.... imho
