Re: And there was much sadness in the land...
what if all the current players send their 2h files to someone like a PBEM?
shouldn't it host normally?

It doesn't work like that unfortunately, you need the "ftherlnd" file as well to host it.

Re: New Game PBEM
I've waited enough time to say this, but the last turn we played this game I moved a quite powerful force into Atlantis' capital province. Strages Sactus is/was Atlantis.
Know that he attacked me first and continued to attack me relentlessly. Frankly I almost turned my game over to the AI several times since it seemed I was doomed. However, I was eventually able to prevail and the tides of battle turned against Atlantis. Finally since Vanheim cut Atlantis' land route of advance against me, I was able to take the offensive and move my armies against Atlantis.
I sincerely hope this is not the case, but Strages Sanctus might have taken down the server since he was about to suffer a terrible defeat, at least unless a miraculous event took place that would have saved him.
Regardless, if he did take down the server simply because he was on the verge of defeat, that is a dishonorable thing to do. I think that if you agree to host a game, you host it until the bitter end, even if you suffer a defeat.
If this is a case, I would warn everyone against joining a game that Sanctus is hosting. I would also warn against allowing Sanctus to join a game due to his possibly dishonorable actions.
I hope I am mistaken and that Sanctus will reappear and allow this game to continue.

Re: New Game PBEM
I hadn't realized that Strages was Atlantis. This certainly looks bad, although there's no way to know for sure.
As Kydorias is saying, I began to attack Atlantis' land provinces, and on the last hosted turn wiped out an Atlantean army around 150 strong with practically no losses. He was on the fast track to elimination at that point.

Re: New Game PBEM
The REAL crappy thing is that this seems to be a really good game for a lot of players, and at least one (probably more) would be willing to take over hosting if we could just get the ftherlnd file. Strages, if you did drop from being eliminated (and see this), could you please, please, please give us that file so the rest of us could figure something out?

Re: New Game PBEM
Probably we lost the host of this game. Who was winning? Maybe tienchi or Acros?

Re: New Game PBEM
Oh really? Vanheim! Vanheim! Three cheers for Vanheim!
I wouldn't discount Kailasa, Mictlan or Oceania either.
It was way too early to know the winner.

Re: New Game PBEM
Yeah, no way to call a winner yet, but I was very happy with my position. The game was just about to get real interesting....
