Heehee. I remember couple of threads in the strategic games newsgroup where the conversation was how Illwinter should hire me as a PR person.

Re: from which source you heard of dominions (I/II)
Read a few comments on the .strategic newsgroup... so I downloaded the demo, found out it could run under Linux, and said, well, that kind of effort deserves a little bit of my money
Unfortunately, the DomI interface being what it is, I didn't spend enough time with it to fully enjoy it; I guess I never really climbed the learning curve. With DomII, and a working 'net connection from home now, I expect to play it enough to get into MP games.

Re: from which source you heard of dominions (I/II)
I've heard first of Dom1 on Unsenet csipgs, but wasn't hooked then, seemed too obscure and complex, and I not even installed the demo after getting it...
In fact I really started to play & enjoy Dom1 after a discussion on AOW:SM forum where the guys told war stories, this seemed soooo much better than the boring AoW battles I was having that I gave Dom a try...
This was just before Dom 2 was announced at Shrapnel's , 5 weeks ago !

Could you post a link to these war stories? You got me interested, for I haven't had that good stories myself. I have neither lost or won... I have realised I'm winning or losing, and lost my interest.

Look at DarkMystery Posts on page 3-4
And this old thread has Posts from cpbeller and Saber Cherry, that's funny !

Re: from which source you heard of dominions (I/II)
It has Posts from you too.
Actually I was just noticing that thread in AOW Heavens forum before I started beta testing Dom 2. It felt kindda weird to see a mention of the game I tried (demo only) several months before and due to RL and high rate of addictiveness of the game had to stop playing it. The thread made me download demo again and shortly after I got invitation from Shrapnel to beta test sequel!

Re: from which source you heard of dominions (I/II)
Maybe because I was already beta tester for Shrapnel.
